OT: ratings based on?

I don't have a rating and I don't normally rate people. I find the whole system dumb.

There are some people who are probably not even members of this board who rate others poorly just for fun. That's why a lot of people turn off this feature. I only rate people 5 stars because I haven't found anyone to be less than that. Sometimes I'll rate them because they have 4 stars and I want to bring up their rating and I also rate newbies as a welcome to the board thing.

I don't rate people anymore, but when I did, I only rated them 5 stars and only when I thought of it...like when I'd think, "Oh, this person is really nice...I should give them stars..."

Only once did I give someone less than 5 stars and that was when some weirdo came on our board and started posting mean stuff just to make trouble.

But recently, many of us have noticed that the stars bother people and they really are pretty silly, after all, we all know that we like each other and are friends, so lots of people have just turned them off and stopped paying attention to them at all. [img]smile.gif[/img]
